Emma Davies discovered the benefits of Pilates ten years ago, and after many years of practice she decided to bite the bullet, give up her day job as a TV producer and become a full-time instructor.
Emma enrolled at the Kane School of Core Integration in NYC, under the guidance of the school’s founder Kelly Kane, and became fully certified in anatomy, mat and equipment.
Private classes with Emma are individually tailored to work for each client's needs. Her client base includes both fitness and special populations. She is experienced in moving clients who are pre-natal and post-partum; with herniated discs, frozen shoulders, hyper mobility (Ehlers Danlos), Crohn's disease, osteoporosis, scoliosis and clients returning to movement
after knee and hip replacements. Her clients range in age from 13-103. She is certified FAMI Level 1 & 2 - Functional Anatomy for Movement with Injuries - through the Icahn School at Mt Sinai Hospital NYC. She has also completed Modules 1 and 2 through Scolio Pilates.
Emma was an assessing practitioner and Pilates instructor for three years at Dynamic Body Pilates in Manhattan. Prior to that she was a senior Pilates instructor at three Equinox studios in NYC where she also became CPR certified. She also taught a modified Pilates program for seniors at three assisted living residences in NYC and a Pilates mat classes at WIN NYC - a supportive shelter for homeless women.
